The heritage area of Sharjah is a pleasant place to wander around and apprehend the local architecture, especially the stone wind tower. Visit of the heritage area

There are some small museums in the village heritage: Sharjah Heritage Museum, Al Eslah School Museum, Sharjah Calligraphy Museum. And many associative houses on the theme of art and culture not necessarily open to tourists.

Take a look at the unique stone wind tower in the emirates (Majlis Al Midfa) and the traditional Bait Al Naboodah house, which is currently being restored.

Fort Al Hisn

Sharjah's Fort Al Hisn once protected the city from invaders' attacks. On its forecourt, ancient guns form a line of defense today very useless. The interior of the fort can not be visited.

Access map to the historic district

The heritage area is located on the map below at the souk Al Arsah and extends to the fort Al Hisn symbolized by the orange mark. The easiest way is to park in the car parks along the corniche, then to visit the neighborhood on foot.
