Jumeirah Beach

To go to the beach without any other formality than taking your swimsuit and towel, go to the beaches of North Jumeirah, bordering residential areas with villas of only two levels. There is no much equipments, just sometimes a few stalls, and a long jogging track. The further you go to the North, the easier it is to find a parking space along the beach.

A little further south is the resort area, with the iconic Dubai hotel Burj Al Arab, and hotels in the Jumeirah hotel chain, including those around the Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

There is also a water park, the Wild Wadi Water Park.

Just a few years ago, the southern beaches of Jumeira were fully open. At the foot of the towers, the inhabitants were coming in the evening to enjoy the sea. But the beach has been expanded with imlported sand, new hotels, restaurants and beach club have opened, chasing the simple beachmen to the North.

Today this part of Jumeirah also called Jumeïrah Walk or Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) is very animated and many beach clubs welcome holidaymakers by offering activities to make them spend their money, with lounge electronic music ambiance.

It is a very good choice with dozens of restaurants with terrace in an average price range. Behind JBR, Dubai Marina with its artificial pools surrounded by large residential towers, also offers a wide choice of restaurants.

It's impossible to talk about hotels in Jumeirah without mentioning the iconic hotel Burj Al Arab. Overall, the hotels in this area are very good. Of the best, all with beach, the One & Only Royal Mirage, the three hotels of the souk Madinat (Al Qasr Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf and Jumeirah Mina At Salam) and in a remote and quiet location, the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.

The following maps show from north to south the different parts of Jumeirah. The main metro line serves several access points, provided you take a taxi to travel the kilometer separating the metro stations from the coast. Closer to the sea, bus lines run along the Jumeirah Beach Road, which is a short walk from the beach. South Jumeïrah, including the marina district, is covered by a tram line.
