Dubai Palm Jumeirah
The artificial island of Palm Jumeirah Dubai was admired by the world in the early 2000s, when millions of cubic meters of sand created new territories on the sea. Palm-shaped, Dubai Palm Jumeirah is visible from space. Hotels, luxury residences and theme parks have made their home on the artificial island. History of The Palm Dubaï
The titanic project, undertaken at the beginning of the 21st century, consisted of building an outer dike, where were built the most imposing buildings like the hotel Altlantis, and 16 strips of sand with villas, connected to a central trunk. The central trunk is crossed by a highway and an aerial train. It is connected by a tunnel to the outer dike.
It took 210 million cubic meters of rocks, sands and various materials to complete the Palm Jumeirah and provide the city with 520 kilometers of additional coastline - a delight for real estate developers.
The project is emblematic of the madness of grandeur of Dubai at the beginning of this century, which precipitated the economic crisis of 2009. At that time the approach of the city for sustainable development is stammering, and the artificial islands have faced environmental challenges during their construction. The only central highway that connects the palm to the continent is quickly engulfed when events are held at the Palm, and the skytrain is not used by residents because of its price and its difficult connections to other metro lines in the city .

Visit of Palm Dubaï
The iconic building of Palm Jumeïrah is the hotel Altlantis, replica of a resort in Bahamas that had international reputation at the end of the 90's. With its central position and its majestic arch, it's hard to miss it. Concerts are held on the beach of Altlantis gathering tens of thousands of people.
Attached to the Altlantis Hotel, a small luxury shopping center with The Lost Chambers aquarium and indoor restaurants.
Palm Jumeïrah's flagship theme park is Aquaventure Waterpark, with friendly attractions and a gigantic slide with plexiglass tubing through the shark pond.
Hotels in Palm Jumeirah Dubaï
We already mentioned the hotel Atlantis, the iconic building of Palm Jumeirah Dubai. From our perspective, is is a tourist factory with its 1500 rooms and suites. The other palm hotels are smaller but equally luxurious. Take a look at the hotel Rixos The Palm Dubai, the Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, the Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa (which also offers apartments) or the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Royal Residences. You can also consider the Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah, although its benefits are slightly behind.
Our two favorites are the hotel One&Only The Palm, because it has less than 100 rooms, and the Fairmont The Palm for the beautiful view from its pool on the coast and the beaches of Jumeirah.
